UX & Inclusive Design Festival 2014

16 Oct

An event, a celebration, an Open Space, a place where UX experts and workers will meet, think and work side by side.

We’d like you to join us in this festival where every voice will be heard, where the topics of discussion will be decided collectively by the participants and where the lead role will be played by each and very one of us. A happy coupling of UX, Usability and Accessibility theory and practice with one common goal: creating a more inclusive society.

What world do you create, when you create? When? Sunday, November 23rd 2014 from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm (next day is holyday), the day after ISA 2014 with whom we hope to create a mutually beneficial synergy. =)

Where? Iguazú 451, Parque Patricios, Buenos Aires, Argentina (a wonderful place!) Access to the place is easy with the bus lines  6, 9, 25, 28, 32, 50, 65, 101, 115, 128, 133, 134, and 165, or the H subway (metro) line.

Who is behind the Event? The Inclusive Design Movement ((http://www.disenoinclusivo.org.ar), and each and every attendant.

How? In an Open Space; an open idea market to define the agenda, work groups during the day and a big wrap at the end of the day (more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Space_Technology).

Access is free of charge but we have a maximum capacity of 120 particpants. Please register first! https://eventioz.com.ar/fux-di2014.

Do I need my computer? Not really. We will be using papers boards, but you are more than welcome to bring yours if you feel the need or find it useful.

Will it be cool?

Making the most out of this experience is in your hands as well as ours. We build this event together.  But we strongly believe it will be great!

Here are some of the topics that will be presented in the marketplace: Quick iterative prototypes; UX in Latin America; a Sensorial Workshop; Concept Mapping Agile Techniques; UX in Health,  A human process for relevant decision making in e-commerce services, UX in Bitcoins, ROI in UX, and counting.

Some of the guest who have already confirmed their presence, are relevant member of the UX community such as Daniel Mordecki, Veronica Traynor, Andy Headt, Enrique Stanziola, Eduardo Mercovich, Guillermo Ermel, among others

Everyone is welcome and we encourage you to add topics to the list. The agenda will be based on how many people sign-up for each of the topics during the first hour of the event in the idea open market.

Bring your ideas

This festival is a peer interaction event, some with lots of experience, some new comers to the community, but peers none the less.

Feel free to bring your ideas and topics for discussion.

  • Any topic you are interested in enough that you are willing to open for discussion. It might be complex, and not perfectly defined, as the purpose will be to learn from the debate.
  • You don’t need to be an expert on the subject. You just have to care and want to do something about it.
  • You could share an experience in UX/Inclusive Design that the rest of the community can benefit from and see how it can be applied to other cases.
  • It would be nice to have hands-on activities as well as theory and discussions.
  • They can go on after the festival! If an idea and experience during the festival has inspired and motivated a group of people, the group can keep working on the issue. The Inclusive Design Movement encourages this and will do its best to support any group that want to work aligned with our mission.

We will have two major companies, joining us for the sole purpose of recruiting people for their UX teams. If you are interested in this opportunity, the festival will be the best place to show them who you are.

Reminder & Thank you

Keep in mind that the event is 100% free of charge, but we do have a maximum capacity.
Please register in advance at https://eventioz.com.ar/fux-di2014.

Thanks! And see you in the festival!
